4. Viewing Features

On BeaconGIS, we offer a few different ways to view your data.

Please note, if clicking on a feature does shows no results were found, open the Layers panel and ensure that you don’t have a single layer selected. This will restrict your query search to just that layer.

Option 1: Clicking on Features #

Clicking on a feature point, line, or shape will query all available Datasets to find information about your selected pin. This query will display everything in your click path. You can scroll through these items on the right side Feature Panel that pops up.

Option 2: Through the Attribute Table #

If you prefer a more advance way of opening your individual features, you can open the Layers Panel and click on the layer you’re wishing to browse.

The button pointed out above is the Attribute Table button. Clicking this button will open the table for this the kansas_city_south_random_pins Dataset.

From the Attribute Table Panel, you can see that every pin in this layer is now displayed. Clicking on the magnifying glass to the left of any of these features will point it out on the map for you.

The Attribute Panel is incredibly powerful, allowing you to do things like filter, add, and edit pins on your Dataset. This is where you will see various fields like description, location type, material, diameter and other details about each pin.
